Pocket Hole Jigs are not new to woodworking but a portable workstation with storage is a HUGE enhancement that will add efficiency to your workflow. With an extended level work surface, the workstation resolves a common problem when drilling pocket holes in large pieces of wood. This problem is balancing a large wood panel on a 3 inch wide jig which typically requires adding scrap wood to your work surface to support your project on both sides of the jig. Using the lids of the storage boxes as the project support remediates that issue.
Secondly, there are many accessories to pocket hole jigs including dust collection ports, drill bits, screw bit drivers, screws, etc. The addition of two storage compartments which lock is a game changer. No more digging through drawers looking for drill bits, or kneeling on the floor searching for your box of pocket hole screws. When the workstation is not in use, it easily hangs on a wall or the side of a workbench.
This entire project uses roughly 1/3 sheet of 1/2 inch plywood. The jig used in these plans (Kreg K4 Jig) is by far the most popular jig system ever sold, but unfortunately, is no longer sold in stores. There are many other options for a Pocket Hole Jig System available and these plans can be easily modified to incorporate a different pocket hole jig if needed. These Pocket Hole Jig Workstation plans use 3D model images as well as images taken during the build process to simplify the build. In addition to these digital plans, I have posted a full build video as well as all of the materials and tools I used to build the Pocket Hole Jig Workstation in this
blog post.
When ordering these plans I recommend creating an account at checkout on the website so you will always have access to the download link if you ever have to redownload the file. After checkout you will be redirected to a link to download the plans and you’ll also receive an email with the download link. If you don’t see the email, please check your junk/spam folder.
Please share your photos of your project on Instagram and tag @dellsdiy so I can see your creations. As always, thank you so much for your support and I can’t wait to see your completed projects!
